Anxiety is increasingly prevalent in our modern world.  I suffer from it, and according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, I'm one of 40 million anxiety-stricken adults in the US.  A wide range of factors can contribute to anxiety.  Many believe that the influx of instances is caused by societal factors, like trauma, over-stimulation, and the toxicity experienced in our day-to-day lives.  It can feel difficult or even impossible to manage anxiety, but there are ways.  If you have anxiety, it's up to you whether or not to take medication for it.  I choose not to, and I believe that is the right choice for me.  Instead, I manage my symptoms through nutrition, yoga, meditation, and energy work.  These methods are very effective for me and others, and have zero side effects.

Is Pranic Healing Right For You?

Energy healing can help everyone, whether you're generally healthy, chronically ill, or anywhere in between.  But there are many types of energy work out there, and their methods vary a lot.  I have found that choosing the right one depends more on the temperament of the person receiving the energy, than on the symptoms they're experiencing.  This is, of course, very different from the way we approach most other forms of medicine, both conventional and natural.  So, how do you know what is right for you?

Energy healing can help everyone, whether you’re generally healthy, chronically ill, or anywhere in between.  But Pranic Healing is just one of many types of energy work out there, and their methods vary a lot.  I have found that choosing the right one depends more on the temperament of the person receiving the energy than on the symptoms they’re experiencing.  This is, of course, very different from the way we approach most other forms of medicine, both conventional and natural.  So, how do you know what is right for you?

I have written another article giving a more general idea of the differences between Reiki and Pranic Healing (you can find it here).  This post will focus more on Pranic Healing.  Pranic Healing is growing in popularity.  Reiki is still more well-known, but many people who try out Reiki find that it doesn’t quite work for them.  This isn’t because Reiki doesn’t work, or because Pranic Healing is better.  It’s just that those people don’t have the right temperament to respond to Reiki.

So, what is Pranic Healing?

Pranic Healing is a more active form of energy healing.  It uses an 11-Chakra system to find the root of your health problems, or potential problems, and clear them out.  If you are experiencing symptoms already, it will take several sessions to clear out the issues and establish balance.  Health issues show up in the energy body first, so it’s best to see an energy worker regularly.  This will nip illness in the bud, and  ensure that symptoms don’t show up at all.  Unfortunately, we have been programmed by conventional medicine to believe that we don’t need to see any kind of healthcare worker unless we are already ill.  

A Pranic Healer will start the session by assessing your energy field.  Personally, I am most sensitive to the feel of energies, so I use a tactile method of scanning, as do many other Pranic Healers.  Some are more visual and able to see the colors of your aura, and may use other methods. 

After the practitioner has a good idea of where the problems are, he/or will begin to clear the chakras using hand motions in front of your physical body.  Once a chakra is cleared out, the healer will channel new prana – energy – into it.  This process will be repeated with each chakra.  

Next, if there were any areas outside of the chakras that seemed imbalanced, the practitioner will deal with those areas in the same way.  The goal of each session is to remove dis-eased prana, and fill your energy body with clean prana.  This puts the system is in balance, and ensures prana is flowing smoothly between all the energy centers.  Think of prana as being like blood in your physical body.  The chakras are like your organs.  If there are blockages, not enough blood gets to your organs, and they will suffer.  Same goes for the prana and your chakras.  

What is different about Pranic Healing?

As I mentioned before, there are many different forms of energy healing.  The most common include Reiki, Acupuncture, EFT, Qi Gong, and Pranic Healing.  Most people are familiar with acupuncture, but many don’t like it, because it feels invasive, or they have a fear of needles.  Some people try it out, and they just don’t respond to it.  

Reiki has become fairly widespread as well.  In Reiki, a practitioner holds various hand positions on or above the physical body, channeling energy into the energy body.  It is very relaxing, and almost feels more like a spa treatment than a medicinal one.  But some people feel restless during Reiki treatments, or they feel like nothing is happening.  They simply don’t respond to it. 

And that’s the main issue at hand here.  It’s not that Reiki doesn’t work – I have had many clients who have responded extremely well, and come back for more!  But if Reiki is all you’ve tried, and it didn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean that energy medicine is ineffective.  You just haven’t found the right one.

Pranic Healing is best for people who want to see something happening in front of them.  Many people find that, even if they felt nothing during a Reiki treatment, they feel more alive and energized during a Pranic Healing session.  Because it is more active, it is best for people who enjoy being active.  It is possible to feel the flow of your prana improving while the session is happening, and this appeals to those who like to see immediate results. 

EFT and Qi Gong take this a step further.  These are methods of energy healing you do for yourself.  A practitioner will guide you through the steps, and then you take the active role in performing them.  

So, is Pranic Healing right for you?

Do you feel excited about the idea of feeling your energy flowing within you?  Do you ever feel like parts of you are stuck, and you just need to have them cleared out, and re-energized?  Are you someone who likes to be active, and see things happening, rather than just sitting back and letting them flow around you?  If so, then Pranic Healing will be beneficial for you!

While Pranic Healing can be done at a distance, I would encourage you to seek out a local healer for your first session if there are any in your area.  This is simply because many people feel more involved in the process if they can see it happening.  I do offer Pranic Healing locally in and around Albany, OR, and I offer distance healing sessions anywhere in the world.
